A Weekend of Firsts

So now we’re all caught up and I can post in the now.

Lilia had a weekend full of firsts!

Sofia, Allison and Lilia
First kiddie birthday party

Lilia went to Allison’s First Birthday Party. It was a blast, lots of other babies, a giant cupcake, a sippy cup with her name on it and her very first goodie bag!

Family swim

First Swim

Lilia took her first swim. She wasn’t too sure about it in the beginning as the pool was a bit bigger then the kitchen sink or even her bathtub, but it didn’t take her long to realize it was just as fun.

Lilia's first piece of bread

First hunk of bread

Till now Lilia has only eaten pureed fruits and veggies and a couple of rice puffs. Yesterday we gave her a whole hunk of bread and she carbo loaded to her hearts content! Yum!

Lilia goes camping

Mommy and Lilia on a log

Last weekend Lilia and I headed to Mendocino with Almetria and Kai for a fun filled camping trip. Both our Adam’s had to work so we were on our own. At least as on your own as you can be in a group camp with 18 kids and 11 adults.

Lilia loved all the activity, watching the bigger kids and sleeping outside. The only thing she didn’t love was the long drive to camp.

I enjoyed meeting lots of new people and learning that while I can camp without my husband, I really don’t want to!

Mostly I learned that I want to be a camper, it was so much fun!

Lilia’s 6th Month Update

1/2 a hat? For me!

Lilia has been a very busy girl. She’s been sitting up for over a month and boy has that changed her view of the world! She loves having a bit more control over where she looks and what toys she chooses to grab. She’s been leaning forward from a sitting position, moving onto her belly and doing some scooching motions completely disregarding my pleas for her to stay put for a few months longer. She seems determined to be on the move.

Another favorite new pass time is eating everything we put in front of her. She definitely has Daddy’s appetite, and has yet to turn down anything we’ve fed her. So far she’s enjoyed rice cereal, banana, applesauce, avocado, sweet potato, pears and carrots. Her favorite combo so far has been avocado and applesauce mixed…mmm! Next up on the menu are peas and green beans.

Thursday’s have been a special treat this summer because Almetria and Kai have been coming over to take care of Lilia while Adam and I are at work. I don’t think Lilia could have a better babysitter then Kai. Watching them together just makes your heart smile.

Say Cheese!

Lilia’s 5th Month Update

Lilia discovered Peek a Boo today and it resulted in some seriously good giggles! We’ve played with her lots of times before and she was never amused, but today she clearly thought we had invented the best game ever!

Check them out here, and make sure you have your volume turned up. I hope it makes your heart smile as it did ours.

Lilia’s 3rd Month Update

Very exciting news! When Lilia turned 12 weeks old she decided it was time to determine her own destiny when it came to the age old debate of lying on her tummy or her back. For the time being her back is winning out! It took a few days to catch on camera but she was in the mood to perform today showing off her mad skills to Daddy 4 times in a row after I caught her in the act on camera.

I can hardly believe she’ll be 3 months old on Saturday. I head back to work this Monday, and while it will be so hard to leave her, I feel extremely fortunate that I am leaving her in the very capable hands of her loving daddy. My company is setting up a private nursing/pumping room far away from the rest of the office so I am looking forward to some lunch time visits from Lilia and Adam and I will look forward to the end of the week when I get to work from home, not to mention the weekends!

We’ve had a very full couple of weeks with lots of fun visitors from far and wide, a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and there is even more to come in the next few days! Stay tuned, who knows what she’ll be doing next!

Lilia’s 2nd Month Update

Bunny Love

Spring has sprung, and as you can see, Lilia is making the most of it! We turned her crib into a petting zoo so she could play with Grandma Linda’s bunny Percy who came for a visit. Hard to decide which bunny is cuter!

It’s hard to believe Lilia is already 2 months old and growing so fast. We see changes in her all the time and delight in watching her discover new things around her everyday. She is a very happy girl who spoils us rotten by eating so well and sleeping through the night more often than not. She just started giggling last week which has throughly melted our hearts. If you haven’t seen her lately this is one trick you won’t want to miss!

It’s a girl, it’s a blog…

Welcome to Lilia’s Blog!

Since it took me a good 6 months to get this thing started, I thought I’d kick it off by going back to the very beginning.

We are thrilled to announce the birth of Lilia Mason Edgell on Saturday, January 12th at 10:07am.

Our little one weighed in at 6 pounds 7 ounces, is 19 1/4 inches long and she just can’t wait to meet you! She took her time in coming, but we think she was well worth the wait!

Thank you for all the positive thoughts, love and energy you have been sending our way.
